This is a project that I made for my son. It took me around three months working a couple evenings a week. The arcade buttons play sounds like horns, beeping, and train whistles. The switches change the LED patterns. There is even a separate key fob which remotely triggers four other sounds. All of the switch and LED circuits were hand soldered. The USB port on the top edge is for charging the battery and reprogramming the sounds.
The faceplate is painted yellow with acrylic, and finished with shellac to give it a glossy feel. The wooden body is maple with dowel joints in the corners and is finished with beeswax and pine oil. The handles are removable, and are pressure fit with dowels.
